Southwest Horizon School Division is committed to the Safety & Health of its employees and as such, has created this administrative procedure on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Personal Protective Equipment is legislatively required and can prevent many workplace injuries. This administrative procedure must be observed at all times when working in areas requiring personal protective equipment.

Acknowledgement and Agreement

Further, I agree to adhere to this administrative procedure and will ensure that employees working under my direction adhere to this administrative procedure. I understand that if I violate the rules/procedures outlined in this administrative procedure, I may face disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. 









Southwest Horizon School Division is committed to the safety & health of its employees and as such, has created this comprehensive list of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed on our worksites.  Southwest Horizon School Division requires all PPE to comply with Part 6 of the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Regulation and to meet the CSA approved standards. 




Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 

PPE is equipment or clothing worn by employees for protection against safety & health hazards.


Basic PPE

Basic PPE is the type of personal protective equipment (PPE) that should be worn by all personnel in the workplace when entering into PPE designated work zones.

Specialized PPE

Specialized PPE is equipment that is used for specific jobs or for protection from specific hazards.
