Mental Health Wellness Facilitator
Southwest Horizon School Division is accepting applications for a full-time term
Mental Health Wellness Facilitator for the 2024/2025 school year.
Under the direction of the Superintendent and Student Services Coordinator, the Mental Wellness Facilitator position provides wellness services to students and their families through the provision of direct clinical services, consultation, and professional development training to staff.
Qualifications:
Degree in psychology or psychiatric nursing from a recognized university.
Current registration in good standing with the appropriate licensing body required.
Previous experience with individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and professional development training with staff.
Experience and demonstrated competence working with multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) Code of Ethics and relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act, CFS Act, Vulnerable Persons Act, etc. would be an asset.
Knowledge of and ability to apply direct, mediated, and consultative models of practice would be an asset.
Knowledge in the area of developmental disabilities and of current trends, philosophies and practices concerning their care, education, work and lifestyles.
Positive, energetic, and self-directed with excellent interpersonal, written and
verbal communication skills.
Valid Manitoba driver's license and ability to travel and work flexible hours as necessary.
Proven ability to research, develop and deliver innovative programs.
Ability to prioritize, structure and manage scheduling caseload effectively to
achieved targeted outcomes.
Demonstrated experience in facilitation and organization of education and training staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work as a collaborative member of a team including students, families, division personnel, school administrators and teachers.
Assess the therapy needs of students and family members and develop an appropriate plan for therapy services.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date written records of therapy services provided, compile and analyze statistics.
Assist in the development, implementation, and facilitation of programs as
identified by school teams.
Support professional staff implementing relevant school-initiated programs including mental wellbeing programs in classrooms.
To work with school and community partners to develop proactive programming to improve mental wellness.
Work closely with community partners to provide supports to families.
Serve in an advocacy role for individuals.
Participate in professional development required to remain current and to meet job responsibilities.

School Psychologist
Southwest Horizon School Division invites applications for a permanent 0.7 FTE School Psychologist.
The successful applicant will be an experienced, enthusiastic learning detective with demonstrated ability to not only clinically assess students, but to support staff with intervention strategies and programming recommendations.
Required:
· A Master’s degree in psychology or education psychology.
· Permanent Manitoba School Clinicians Certificate, or eligible to obtain Provisional Manitoba School Clinicians Certificate
Responsibilities Include:
· Upon referral, in consultation with the Director of Student Services, provide psychological assessments of individual children.
· As part of the special services team, relay and interpret the results of the assessments to others (including parents) working with the child.
· Complete clinical reports and other necessary documentation and maintain appropriate records.
· Participate in consultative/collaborative service delivery model with student specific planning teams (where appropriate) in planning the individual learning program for the child (may include home program recommendations) as well as the implementation and evaluation of the program.
· Make recommendations to staff, administration and parents/guardians regarding intervention strategies and programming that takes place in the most inclusive environment.
· Participate in follow up discussions relating to the evaluation and alteration of individual programs.
· Liaise and collaborate with community agencies to access services and supports.
· Direct involvement in classroom programs as guest instructor/speaker in certain activities such as units on problem solving, thinking skills and relevant health units.
· Develop and implement Inservice training programs for other members of staff relating to the dissemination of the most current information on intervention strategies.
· In consultation with the Director of Student Services, establish annual program objectives.
· Maintain level of professional development.

Substitute School Bus Drivers
Deloraine, Hartney, Melita, Pierson, Souris, Waskada, Wawanesa
Southwest Horizon School Division is now accepting applications for school bus drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation for students across our division. Training is provided and paid for to upgrade your license to Class 2 and for your school bus endorsement. Training Session dates still to be determined.
Spare or casual school bus drivers are an important part of our Transportation team. They are needed to fill in on routes & extra-curricular trips. Ride-along’s with permanent drivers are arranged, so that spare drivers are familiar with the route.
