Southwest Horizon School Division and Turtle Mountain School Division are seeking a Student Information System (SIS) Specialist to support the effective use and ongoing management of our shared student information system, PowerSchool.
This full-time position plays a key role in ensuring accurate and confidentially maintained student data, efficient school operations, and high-quality support for staff users.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Develop, monitor, and maintain PowerSchool to meet the needs of two Divisions.
Serve as the PowerSchool administrator, including user management, security roles, and permissions.
Maintain data integrity across student enrollment, demographics, scheduling, attendance, grades, report cards, and transcripts.
Configure and maintain PowerSchool settings, code sets, and customizations to align with divisional policies and provincial reporting requirements.
Coordinate and execute annual SIS processes (Start of Year, End of Year, student rollover, archiving and reporting cycles) for both school divisions.
Support the creation and maintenance of master schedules, courses, sections, and grade scales in collaboration with school and divisional leadership.
Develop and run reports and data extracts to support school-based decision-making, divisional planning, and provincial reporting.
Provide support for PowerSchool-related issues, including troubleshooting login, and data problems.
Plan and deliver training, documentation, and ongoing support for school staff and administrators on PowerSchool and related modules.
Liaise with PowerSchool support and other vendors as needed, manage tickets, and coordinate system updates and enhancements.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Systems, Education, Computer Science, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a complex business system application; experience with PowerSchool is preferred.
Strong technical skills; and experience configuring databases, data imports/exports, manipulating and developing queries.
Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets, and basic data analysis.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables.
Clear and effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff and develop user-friendly guides and training materials.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff from both divisions, maintaining high standards of confidentiality and data security.
Work Arrangement
· Full-time position, with 0.5 FTE dedicated to Southwest Horizon School Division and 0.5 FTE dedicated to Turtle Mountain School Division.

The Southwest Horizon School Division (SHSD) is looking for a Senior Election Official to be responsible for the proper and impartial administration of the SHSD School Board Trustee elections in accordance with duties assigned by The Municipal Councils and School Board Elections Act.
Appointed by SHSD, the SEO is an independent officer who serves as the primary contact for the school board election. This position is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the trustee election process, including:
· Complying with all election rules, deadlines and procedures
· Receiving school trustee nominations
· Preparing and maintaining voter lists for SHSD wards
· Coordinating polling stations and supervising election staff
· Receiving polling results and ballots at the polling station
· Declaring results.
· Ensuring the confidentiality and protection of voter and other personal information.
We are looking for someone with:
· Knowledge of the Municipal Councils and School Boards Election Act and ability to interpret election legislation and procedural guidelines;
· Excellent communication, attention to detail, organizational and computer skills;
· Ability to work independently and with SEOs of municipalities within SHSD;
· Knowledge of the general electoral area;
· Proven ability to manage complex processes with a high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
· Previous experience in elections, governance, public administration, or project management under strict deadlines is an asset.
Work Arrangement:
· Term contract, effective June 1, 2026, or by mutual agreement. Election day is October 28, 2026.
· Flexible schedule. To be discussed with successful candidate.
· Requires availability during the full election cycle, including evenings and weekends.
· Wage: $35/hour.
· Training is provided.

Southwest Horizon School Division is now accepting applications for school bus drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation for students across our division. Training is provided and paid for to upgrade your license to Class 2 and for your school bus endorsement. Training Session dates still to be determined.
Spare or casual school bus drivers are an important part of our Transportation team. They are needed to fill in on routes & extra-curricular trips. Ride-along’s with permanent drivers are arranged, so that spare drivers are familiar with the route.
