The following Rules and Regulations are an important part of succeeding in achieving a Safe Work Culture. These rules and regulations will reduce injuries, workplace illnesses and damage to division property.
Southwest Horizon School Division Safety Rules are:
Safety is the responsibility of all employees.
Know your responsibilities and rights.
All personnel on specific job sites must wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
While operating equipment appropriate PPE must be worn at all times.
(Example: eyewear, safety boots, gloves, respirators, proper clothing)
Report all near misses, accidents/incidents to your immediate supervisor immediately.
Notify your immediate supervisor immediately of any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
Perform your work duties in accordance with your Safe Work Procedures and Practices.
Only trained and qualified employees may operate machinery and powered equipment.
Prior to operating any machinery, power tool or powered mobile equipment, a pre-use checklist must be completed.
(Example: check for guards, belts and overall working condition)
Consumption of illegal drugs and alcohol are strictly forbidden.
Proper housekeeping should be upheld in all workstations.
Use 3-point contact at all times when walking down stairs or ladders.
When in doubt ask your immediate supervisor for clarification.
