Bus Driver Inservice

Friday October 21 was the day of our annual School Bus Driver Inservice.

As a School Division we must provide 8 hours of Professional Development every year for our School Bus Drivers.  This year we decided to do some hands on bus driving to fine tune our drivers skills.  The drivers were put to task on a road course that consisted of simulated pick ups, drop offs, & railway crossings, as well as an off road obstacle course which had them driving around pylons, and in between narrow lines of tennis balls, as well as backing up to road blocks.  And just for a little bit of fun, some redneck rodeo activities with Bus Jousting and Parallel Parking!

Our day also included URIS training, a presentation from the Blue Hills RCMP detachment, and a defensive driving presentation from Sandy Campbell of Pupil Transportation.
