Career & Technology Studies:  Agriculture

 

Southwest Horizon School Division has an Agriculture Program which is approved by the Department of Education.

 

This program gives students an opportunity to study school based curriculum and participate in the agriculture industry with hands on opportunities. 

 

Students can begin taking courses in Grade 9. 

 

Upon completion of a course students will receive a credit that can be used towards graduation requirements. 

 

If a student completes eight courses in this field of study they will receive a diplomia in Agricultural studies from Southwest Horizon School Division.

 

This program consists of the following courses:

  • Animal Production 20S

 

  • Plant Production  20S

 

  • Intro to Horticulture 20S

 

  • Intro to Farm Skills 20S

 

  • Beef Cattle  40S

 

  • Poultry  40S

 

  • Dairy 40S

 

  • Farm Machinery  40S

 

  • Honey Bees  40S

 

  • Swine  40S

 

  • Applied Agriculture  40S

 

  • Agriculture  30S
