Words Into Action 2009-2010
Grade 1 Ms. Pierce
This year grade one students sent Remembrance Day decorations to decorate the Legion.  We will be making Christmas cards for the sick Children's Hospital. Students will draw pictures on quilt squares with fabric markers for blocks in a tied quilt. This quilt will go to the women's shelter

Grade 2 Mrs. Lee
This year we will create a mitten tree that will grace the elementary hallway.  On the tree, we will hang donated mittens, scarves, and toques.  These items will be donated to the Melita Christmas Cheer Board for inclusion in the Christmas Hampers which they deliver in our area.  We also packed two Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes and wrote letters to the boy and girl that will receive our gifts.

Grade Four Mrs. Bodin
In the fall we will go to Centre Park to clean up the Kid's Flower bed. In the spring we will help plant the flower bed. Both are in conjunction with Communities in Bloom. We will clean up garbage on the school grounds throughout the school year, and clean up Centre Park for the Town - Wide clean up in spring.

Grade 7
The Grade 7 Class have chosen to raise donations for the Funds for Furry Friends Group out of Brandon, Manitoba. This organization rescues animals who are being mistreated, are in ill health, or have been abandoned. The Gr 7 Class will be holding a bake sale on the evenings of Nov 25 and Nov 26, during our Parent Teacher Conferences. Donation boxes will also be set up around town at our local businesses to aid in their cause. All proceeds from the Bake Sale and Community  Donations will be sent to The Funds for Furry Friends Group.
