Introduction

 

This manual contains a comprehensive compilation of job descriptions, benefit packages, evaluation forms and employee guides.

 

The Committee of the Whole reviews salaries and benefits established in this manual on a yearly basis.  During this review, the committee is open to considering requests from employee groups or individuals where applicable.

 

Recommendations by this committee, when ratified by the Board of Trustees, constitute the salary and benefits for the period indicated.

 

The manual references some terms which should be defined:

 

Executive Team

 

Refers to the Superintendent and Secretary Treasurer

 

MSBA

 

Refers to Manitoba School Board Association (formerl MAST)

 

Committee of the Whole

 

Refers to a meeting of the elected trustees where items are discussed before being passed onto a formal board meeting.

Board or School Board

 

Refers to the elected trustees of the Southwest Horizon School Division

 

12 Month Employees

 

Refers to custodians, cleaners, computer technicians, garage staff, maintenance technicians and division office staff

 

10 Month Employees Refers to bus drivers, educational assistants, library coordinators and school secretaries
